The Consultative Committee of Accounting Bodies in Ireland (CCABI) is the umbrella organisation for the profession. Split into the main committee, a tax, and an insolvency committee, and with a number of specific technical working groups, CCABI is working hard on your behalf to represent your interests with the Government and Regulators. This event will be chaired by Tara Clements, ACCA Ireland Chair, and presented by the ACCA volunteers who represent you on these committees, which will cover the following areas.

- Enda Faughnan and Ken Garvey – CCABI tax committee and TALC
- Tom Murray - CCABI insolvency committee
- Aidan Clifford – a summary of the other technical committees and their work
- A call for volunteers to fill a number of vacancies on CCABI and for specialists to volunteer for technical working group panels.

Tom Murray, Director, Friel Stafford
Tom is one of Ireland's most experienced corporate recovery and turnaround practitioners and was one of the first personal insolvency practitioners licensed in Ireland. Tom is a past president of ACCA Ireland and a former member of ACCA’s global council. He is also a member of The Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners. He has worked on over 1,000 corporate insolvency cases including Liquidations, Receiverships, and Examinerships.
Tom also specializes in Forensic Accounting, Corporate Finance, and Business Valuations.
Enda Faughnan, Consultant, PwC
Enda Faughnan is a member of the Technical Committee of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants in Ireland and is their representative on the Tax Administration Liaison Committee (Main TALC) and on the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies in Ireland (CCAB-I). Enda chairs the Tax Committee of the Irish Debt Securities Association and is also a member of the Tax Group examining the implementation of BEPS and the EU Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive
Enda joined Price Waterhouse in 1985 and was made a Tax Partner in 1988. Enda was then appointed Head of Tax Services in Price Waterhouse in 1995 and appointed Head of Tax and Legal Services in PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1998 on the merger with Coopers & Lybrand. He stepped down from this position in July 2003 to concentrate on international financial services client work.
Kenneth Garvey, Partner, Cusack Garvey Chartered Certified Accountants, and Registered Tax Consultants
Kenneth is a founding member of Cusack Garvey and a Partner specialising in taxation. Kenneth is a Board member of the ACCA Global Forum for Taxation in London, which
brings together business leaders, finance professionals, academics, and influencers from around the world to create global conversations. The Tax Forum aims to further think on current and future issues in global taxation. Kenneth is also a committee member of
Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies in Ireland (CCAB-I) Taxation Committee South, ACCA Ireland Tax Committee, Tax Administration Liaison Committee (TALC) Direct, and Capital Taxes Committee, and also a Chairman of MSI Global Alliance – International Tax Committee.
Aidan Clifford, Advisory Service Manager, ACCA Ireland
Aidan works full time for ACCA as Advisory Service Manager of ACCA Ireland; providing advice to accountants on technical auditing, accounting, ethical, and investment business issues. He also lectures extensively for ACCA on auditing and accounting to qualified members and students both in Ireland and overseas.
