Feargal Kenzie Director Tax Controversy
Feargal Kenzie is a Director in the Limerick Office, with over 20 years' tax experience. Feargal holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from the University of Limerick, is a member of the Irish Tax Institute and a regular contributor to ITI seminars on Tax Controversy.
Feargal specialises in Tax Controversy – being any scenario where the Revenue Commissioners intervene into a taxpayer’s affairs to include Revenue intervention/audit preparation and attendance, extensive e-audits, Co-operative Compliance Framework preparation and attendance, all forms of Revenue compliance interventions, furnishing both unprompted and prompted qualifying disclosures, management of the Revenue engagement process and dealing the Officer of the Collector General in matters of Debt Management. He also specialises in tax health checks and tax control frameworks.
Feargal’s experience has seen him work across the entire spectrum of Revenue Divisions covering all industries and sectors. He advises clients on the merits of a proactive approach to dealing with circumstances which may trigger a liability to tax with a particular focus on protecting brand and reputation from excess tax geared penalties and tax defaulter publication.
Fiona McLafferty Managing Director Tax Controversy
Fiona McLafferty is a Managing Director in Tax Controversy in Deloitte. Fiona is a practising Solicitor, an Accredited Mediator and an Associate of the Irish Tax Institute. She is a former Tax Appeal Commissioner, acting as the quasi-judicial decision-maker in all tax disputes. Prior to her role as a Tax Appeal Commissioner, Fiona was a Solicitor in the Revenue Commissioners for 15 years providing a legal service to the tax authority in all aspects of its business. She was seconded to the European Commission as a National Expert for a period in 2016. She has extensive experience in providing advice and support throughout the controversy lifecycle from tax risk mitigation to revenue intervention management to tax dispute resolution.
