Overview

This joint conference between the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) and ACCA will look at the Sustainable Reporting Requirements in the EU.


Learning Objectives

  • The Corporate Sustainable Reporting Directive (CSRD) is the largest change in the accounting and auditing profession in the EU in 25 years. Almost every EU company is impacted in a phased approach over time with large companies coming in scope in the second phase from January 2025. There are a potential 1,100 data points and over 80 possible disclosure requirements; subject to a double materiality assessment. This presentation will look at:
    • The application dates, who is in scope when
    • What is sustainability reporting
    • What is double materiality
    • An introduction to the European Sustainable Reporting standards
    • The international issues and other non-EU sustainability reporting standards
    • Assurance requirements
    • Implications for accountants, auditors and accounting students

Aidan provides an advisory service for members’ of ACCA on accounting, auditing, ethical and company law as well as coordinating the ACCA Ireland responses to proposed legislative and regulatory changes. Aidan also represents ACCA on a number of technical committees in areas such as anti-money laundering, reporting to ODCE and various audit related and sustainability working groups.
