Gareth Colgan is a Deputy Head within the Policy and Risk Directorate at the Central Bank of Ireland with responsibility for Insurance Prudential Policy. This remit covers Solvency II implementation at the Central Bank. He originally joined the Financial Regulator in 2007 and has previously worked in Insurance Supervision. He has represented the organisation on a number of CEIOPS and EIOPA Solvency II expert working groups. In a thirty year career, he has held senior management roles at Irish Life Assurance, Bank of Ireland Life and Transamerica International Reinsurance Ireland. He was also a lecturer in Actuarial Science and Statistics in University College Dublin for more than ten years. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland.
