She is the Principal of Stephenson Burns Solicitors for over 22 years. It is a very specialist practice, as it only deals with Succession Law and in particular, Wills, Trusts, Administrations, Estate Tax Planning, Litigation arising from probate matters and Capital Taxes thereto.

Aside from their own private clients, a significant proportion of their work is providing an advisory service for solicitors in the same areas.

She is the ex-Chair of the Law Society’s Probate Administration and Trust Committee (PAT), a member of Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) the DSBA Probate and Taxation and formally, a member of the Mental Health and Capacity Committees and am a founding member of Solicitors for the Elderly.

She is a co-author of the Oxford University Press (OUP) Manual on "Wills Probate and Estates" 7th Edition 2021 and (all previous editions) and of the OUP Manual on “Capital Taxation” 2nd edition. She is also a contributor to “Laffoy Irish Conveyancing Precedents,” in particular, the section on executors and administrators.

She lectures, examines and tutors on the Law Society's Professional Courses (PPC1, the Advanced Probate and Tax Module and the Hybrid Course) and on the STEP Diploma Courses on Wills, Trust & Estate Planning. She also lectures on these topics for the Law Society’s “ Essentials of Legal Practice Course” for foreign lawyers who wish to qualify in this jurisdiction . Further, she lectures and tutors for the Law Society bi- annual Master Classes on Wills, Probate, Trusts, Disclaimers and Administration of Estates.

She lectures several times a year on the Law Society's Skillnet Courses and Solicitors for the Elderly throughout the country, and in Dublin for the DSBA as well as bi-annually for Erin International.

She also organises, writes and speaks at Stephenson Burns’ bi-annual day-long seminars (currently at Seminar 45) on Wills, Trusts, Administrations and taxes relating thereto, approximately 160 Solicitors, Accountants and Barristers attend each seminar.
