ACCA has launched an international study that quantifies the global infrastructure gap and demonstrates how bringing the accountant to the forefront of infrastructure decision-making will improve the selection, financing, and delivery of projects.

The study looks at how accountants can bridge the global infrastructure gap and improving outcomes across the entire project life cycle.

The event will look at some of the findings of the report and good practices around the world. It will also serve as a platform for the sharing of ideas on how the government can best meet the needs of their citizens.

• Introduction from Helen Brand, ACCA, Chief Executive who will discuss the role of ACCA Professional Insights and some of the resources available to our members in the public sector.
• Alex Metcalfe from ACCA Professional Insights will discuss the key findings of the report.
• Conn Murray recently retired CEO of Limerick City and County Council will discuss the Limerick 2030 project which he managed and which was responsible for over 15,000 new jobs and €2 billion of planned investment for Limerick in the past five years.
• Brian Hough and Brian McEnery will address in detail some of the public sector investment appraisal techniques identified in the report.
