Cybersecurity Policy in Ireland and the application of the EU NIS Directive

Reference:ACOI

A presentation by Richard Browne, Director, National Cyber Security Centre, followed by a moderated Q&A by Rob Corbet, Partner and Head of Technology & Innovation in Arthur Cox.

The NIS Directive places significant obligations on the State and on businesses, including applying a set of binding security obligations to a wide range of critical infrastructure operators.

The Directive also requires the State to apply and police a new regulatory regime on so called Digital Service Providers (DSPs) which include cloud computing providers, search engines providers and providers of online market places.

The State also has responsibility for dealing with the security of services provided by multinational companies across the European Union that have their European headquarters located in Ireland.

This Event will provide the audience with an understanding of how Ireland is adopting EU cybersecurity policy, how EU policy is evolving and how practical issues such as the reporting of NIS Directive incidents to the National Cyber Security Centre are being handled in practice.
