The Irish Institute of Pensions Management IIPM have extended an open invitation to ACCA members’ to attend their inaugural annual conference.
The pensions’ landscape in Ireland is due to undergo a significant transformation in the next few years. Internal considerations (such as auto-enrolment) are colliding with external forces (such as incoming EU Directives), ensuring that pension scheme stakeholders must take a flexible and agile approach to planning for the future.
The IIPM will be hosting presentations and a panel discussion with key stakeholders who, whilst all having different perspectives, share the common goal of helping Irish retirement savers provide for their retirement. The IIPM contributors will speak on the regulatory, trustee proposition, and investment perspectives of these challenges before a combined panel discussion and Q&A.
The event is free to attend and will count for 2 hours of CPD for the Pensions and Savings & Investment categories for Central Bank regulated members. The CPD units for ACCA purposes is 3 hours.
At the event, IIPM will be launching a Diploma in Pensions Management and Policy (leading to AIIPM) and a Law and Governance for Trustees (leading to QPT). Both in association with Griffith College. The Former being mostly applicable to ACCA members’ working in financial services sector. The latter being more applicable to those members’ seeking appointments as Professional Pension Trustees; a role particularly suited to members’ working in practice but potentially of interest to all members.
