Session One: The future of financial reporting for the Irish Government
Judith Brady, Principal, Government Accounting Section, Department of Public Expenditure and Reform will address the current status of projects in Government Accounting including Accrual Accounting and EPSAS
Greg Dempsey, Chief Finance and Operations Officer at the Department of Finance, will introduce the recent IMF’s Fiscal Transparency Assessment of Ireland
Session Two: FRS 102 and the Public Sector: Are you ready?
Alan Bermingham, Principal Consultant, CIPFA Northern Ireland, will present on the technical issues that will result from an implementation of FRS 102
Expert Panel discussion: Aidan Clifford, ACCA, Michael Kavanagh, IAASA and others will join us to explore the priority issues for chief financial officers and finance professionals who are charged with implementing and applying the new standard for 2015. The discussion will take a whole of government approach.
Session Three: Managing Government Expenditure – a new approach?
Annette Connolly, Principal, Central Section, Department of Public Expenditure and Reform will discuss the operation of the new MTEF and its implications for the management of future Government spending
