Technology is a significant factor in all our lives. The pace of change is increasing. With change comes opportunity and this is no truer than for the finance function.
In the past we have seen the adoption of large-scale accounting systems across organisations, often accompanied by process transformation. What does the next generation of technology offer to the informed accountant? What opportunities are there to be ever more relevant to their organisation in this fast-changing world?
ACCA, Deloitte and S.O.E.L jointly invite you to the event: Technology and Accounting -Thinking Ahead
In this event, hosted jointly by ACCA, Deloitte and S.O.E.L we will consider the changing technological landscape for the finance function and how it can develop a robust business case for investment. Our experts will consider how a range of technologies, such as robotic process automation, cloud-based systems, data analytics, artificial intelligence and blockchain, can be used to add value and create insight.
This event aims to:
- create awareness of the important role that technology will play in the development of finance in organisations to ensure that it will remain relevant
- generate an understanding of the range of technologies that are available to the finance community and how they can be used; and
- consider how it impacts the skills and capabilities of those in the finance function
The event is also an opportunity to ask the panel of experts the key questions about these technologies that you may have. Speakers for the event include;
- Clive Webb - ACCA
- Dr. George M. Giaglis - Institute for the Future & University of Nicosia
- And more speakers to be announced
The event will be followed by a drinks and canapes reception
