Eamonn Phelan & Kevin Manning, Milliman
Eamonn is a Principal with Milliman, where he has worked since 2007. Prior to this, he held actuarial roles in mature and start-up organisations, operating both in the domestic and cross border life assurance markets. Eamonn is involved in a wide range of actuarial and risk management work. He has held Appointed Actuary and Life Reinsurance Signing Actuary roles under Solvency I, and now holds a number of Head of Actuarial Function roles under Solvency II. He is a former chairman of the ERM Committee of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland and is regularly involved in various Working Parties of both the Society of Actuaries in Ireland and the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries. Eamonn has extensive experience of Solvency II implementation for life insurance undertakings, together with a strong background in enterprise risk management.
Kevin is a senior consulting actuary in Milliman’s Dublin office. He joined the company in 2007 and has over 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Milliman, Kevin held a range of roles with New Ireland / Bank of Ireland Life. He has discharged the statutory role of Appointed Actuary under the Solvency I regime for a number of clients and currently discharges the role of Head of Actuarial Function under Solvency II for two companies. He is also the PRSA Actuary for a number of clients. Kevin’s consulting experience also includes a variety of projects covering life and pensions as well as health insurance. Kevin is an active member of the actuarial profession through the Society of Actuaries in Ireland (SAI) and the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK. Kevin is a member of the PRSA, Healthcare and Member Engagement committees of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland.
