Speakers include:

Keith Hayes and Norbert Gaspar of the EPSAS – (European Public Sector Accounting Standards) Task Force, European Commission - Eurostat
The team from Eurostat will provide an overview and progress update on the harmonization of European member states public sector accounting and financial reporting. This is a Europe wide directive which has implications for the Irish Public Sector as a whole. This is a significant opportunity to engage with the taskforce that has been charged with the management and implementation of the project.

Joan Curry, Head of Corporate Services, National Shared Services Office
The implementation of Shared Services is a fundamental component of the programme of reform for the Irish Public Sector. Joan will give an update on the work of the NSSO and the roadmap for the future.

Niall O’Reilly, BearingPoint Consulting
In January 2015, a review was published on Debt Management across five sectors within the Irish Public Service. This review was commissioned by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform and was conducted by BearingPoint Consulting. Niall is the project lead and he will present on the findings from the review and proposals for improvement of public sector debt management in the future.

Chris Ridley OBE, Public Sector Policy Manager, ACCA
The theme for Chris’ presentation is “A finance maturity journey for the public sector”. It will look at the benefits to be realised from pursing accruals accounting from year end reporting through to budgeting, consolidated accounts and integrated reporting and its role in promoting sustainable public sector fiscal management.
