Open Banking and Cloud Accounting - Banking meets Bookkeeping

It is the case that the world of banking and finance is being transformed by EU-sponsored legislation known as the Payment Services Directive 2 ('PSD2'). One cohort that has spotted opportunity within this development to enhance product offerings and grow income, is the providers of Cloud Accounting packages.

What does this mean for the wider accounting profession? What are the new opportunities and how can they be realised? Are their new risks? What are the implications for existing business models? Are underlying customers ready to embrace the new services that are possible, in this new era of so-called 'Open Banking'.

To help address these questions, the Fintech and Payments Assiciation of Ireland (FPAI), together with the ACCA and proud sponsors Deloitte, have assembled a set of expert contributors who will share experiences and perspectives on Open Banking and its implications for stakeholders in the accounting world.

Joining us will be:

Ray Rogers, Founder and CEO at Surfaccounts

Johnny O'Dwyer, Head of Digital Investments and Innovation, AIB

Federico Gaffney, Senior Manager, Payments Strategy Risk, Elavon Europe

Jaydeep Thumar, Senior Manager, Payments - Strategy and Operations, Deloitte

18.30 - 18.35 - Welcome/Opening Remarks, by Michael Concannon, FPAI

18.35 - 18.50 - Keynote address, Johnny O'Dwyer, AIB

18.50 - 19.20 - Panel Discussion, followed by Q&A

19.20 - 19.30 - Networking and Close
