Open Banking and Cloud Accounting - Banking meets Bookkeeping
It is the case that the world of banking and finance is being transformed by EU-sponsored legislation known as the Payment Services Directive 2 ('PSD2'). One cohort that has spotted opportunity within this development to enhance product offerings and grow income, is the providers of Cloud Accounting packages.
What does this mean for the wider accounting profession? What are the new opportunities and how can they be realised? Are their new risks? What are the implications for existing business models? Are underlying customers ready to embrace the new services that are possible, in this new era of so-called 'Open Banking'.
