Sheila Nordon: Sheila is Executive Director of ICTR, a leadership organisation working on behalf of charities to enhance the conditions for a vibrant and independent charity sector in Ireland.
Aidan Clifford: Aidan works full time for ACCA as Technical Director of ACCA Ireland; providing advice to accountants on technical auditing, accounting, ethical and investment business issues. He also lectures extensively for ACCA on auditing and accounting to qualified members and students both in Ireland and overseas.

In this session we will explore the key components of good corporate governance in charities including the key differences between charities and private companies, the concept of stewardship vs private ownership and best practice versus minimum legal requirements. The charity landscape in Ireland has changed considerably over the past ten years and more change is on the way. The session will include an outline of the key developments and their implications for charity boards and their professional advisers.
The session will be followed by a 30 minute Q&A panel discussion with the speaker; Tom Connaughton (Member of the Charity SORP Committee) and Aidan Clifford, from ACCA.
