with Tony Gilhawley, Technical Guidance Ltd
Tony is an Actuary with over 35 years broad experience in the Life Assurance and pensions industry, and is also a Fellow of the Irish Institute of Pensions Managers.
After working in various institutions such as Irish Life, Guinness & Mahon, and Prudential Life (where he was the Marketing Director), Tony set up his own independent consultancy company called Technical Guidance Ltd in 1995 to offer a professional consultancy service to financial institutions and educational bodies on Pensions, Life assurance, competence, and compliance matters.
In 2003, he developed the Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA) Course for the LIA, The Insurance Institute of Ireland, and the Institute of Bankers in Ireland. This qualification is the current standard accepted qualification for individuals giving financial advise to consumers on retail financial products. He has also developed examination modules for the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland and the Irish Institute of Pensions Management examination courses.
He is also a well known and regular contributor on technical articles to industry magazines and a speaker at industry conventions.
