CHANGES TO THE REGULATION OF AUDITORS ARISING FROM THE AUDIT DIRECTIVE AND REGULATION

One of  key issues with the implementation of the EU Audit Rules in Ireland is mandatory audit rotation. The EU draft also suggests restricting the engagement of audit firms that have provided certain non-audit service.

ACCA is pleased to invite you to a lunchtime seminar to discuss the changes and to feedback to the Department of Jobs Enterprise and Innovation (DJEI) on the member state options. We hope to identify some of the planning that public interest entities will need to undertake.

The event will be followed by an extensive Q&A session with our panel of experts. The DJEI are tasked with drafting the local law implementing the Directive and there are a number of member state options, so your contribution will be most welcome.

Sue Almond FCCA will summarise the requirements of the Directive and the member state options and timelines for implementation.

She leads ACCA’s team of technical and policy experts and is Technical Adviser to board members of the International Audit and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) and the IFAC Professional Accountants in Business Committee (PAIB).

Stewart Dunne will discuss the issues with the implementation and specific Irish issues and some of the issues for firms with subsidiaries/holding companies in non EU countries.
