Reference:sorp23

ACCA Ireland is inviting you to our Charities SORP Update event which will be delivered by Gerry Fahy- PAT Business School, Jelena Griscenko- Charities Regulator, Emma Delaney- KSI Faulkner Orr and Laura Fallon- KSI Faulkner Orr. This online seminar will take place on Thursday 30th of March 2023.

Key topics to be covered

SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice) is a set of guidelines for Charity financial reporting. The purpose of SORP is to ensure the Charities’ sector provide clear, consistent, and transparent information about their financial activities to stakeholders, such as donors, beneficiaries, and regulators.

Charities are required to maintain accurate records and submit annual financial statements to the Charities Regulator to ensure they operate in a transparent and accountable manner and that they are using their resources effectively to achieve their charitable objectives.

The purpose of the webinar is to set out the standards that Charities must follow when preparing and presenting their financial reports. This will include the guidelines for accounting and financial reporting, including the information that should be included in financial statements, and how it should be presented.

Other topics being discussed will be the work of the Charities Regulator, some stats from last year and an overview of the proposed accounting and reporting regulations.
