Carol is a director in the Financial Services Group of Deloitte in Dublin, and specialises in the provision of assurance and advisory services to clients in the financial services sector. Carol has been with the firm for thirteen years and has wide ranging experience in risk, accounting, and audit services.
- General Data Protection Regulations: with Donal Murray, Director
GDPR is coming into force to regulate the collection, usage and retention of personal data. Organisations need to prepare by seeking consent to retain and process data outside current or historic contractual or regulatory obligations. Failure to do so will curtail their ability to analyse data for marketing and innovation purposes and may result in severe penalties. Preparation involves a lot more than changing policies and procedures, major IT refreshes may need to take place to support the new regulation and the clock is counting down to May 2018.

Donal is a Director in Risk Advisory in the Deloitte Dublin office and has been with the firm for 11 years. Donal specialises in providing IT risk, Risk Analytics and Data Privacy services. He leads the Data Risk Services team operating out of the Dublin office. He also has experience in Sarbanes Oxley and ISAE 3402 assessments.

Darren is a manager in the Actuarial Rewards and Analytics team specialising in the non-life insurance sector. During his time with Deloitte, he has worked extensively in claims analysis for Statement of Actuarial Opinions, reserve valuation, solvency calculation review and risk management projects.
- Capital Management: with Stuart Redmond, Senior Manager
This talk will present a brief overview of the most common tools being used to manage capital in the insurance industry across Europe. It will draw on key output from Deloitte’s recent Capital Management Survey to help you understand the key challenges that insurers are facing with respect to capital management, and their key priorities as they have transitioned to managing on a Solvency II basis.
Stuart Redmond, Senior Manager
Stuart is a consulting actuary and Senior Manager with Deloitte’s Actuarial, Rewards and Analytics practice in Dublin. He has over 12 years of experience in the life assurance industry in Ireland. Prior to joining Deloitte, Stuart worked in a variety of roles with Irish Life Assurance primarily focused on investment and product design. Stuart is a member of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland Finance and Investment Committee and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Carla is a Manager in the Deloitte Technical Accounting team, which provides guidance on detailed technical accounting issues. She has extensive experience on IFRS, GAAP and Solvency II reporting for Insurance companies. She is the IFRS 17 country manager and is part of Deloitte’s EMEA IFRS 17 working group.
