Sheila Nordon is Executive Director of ICTR, a leadership organisation working on behalf of charities to enhance the conditions for a vibrant and independent charity sector in Ireland that commands public confidence. ICTR has been closely involved at all stages of the development of the Charities Act 2009 and has been commissioned by the Department of Justice and Equality to develop and implement The Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising, a set of overarching principles and guidelines for fundraising in Ireland. ICTR is also a member of the Working Group that developed the Governance Code for Community and Voluntary Organisations and has liaised directly on behalf of the sector with the Charity SORP making body (comprising the Charity Commission of England and Wales and the Office of the Scottish Regulator). ICTR promotes high standards among charities to ensure public confidence whilst providing practical supports to charities to achieve them.
