Deirdre McHugh, Barrister, is a Lecturer in Law at the Galway Mayo Institute of Technology and is a founder member of 353 Management & Legal Training Services (formerly known as Legal Training & Consultancy Services) based in Galway servicing the entire country. Deirdre is a strong advocate in educating businesses that prevention is far better than the cure.

Her focus is to avoid costly litigation by ensuring her clients have a deep understanding of all their legal compliance obligations. Working with CEOs and Senior Executives, Deirdre also delivers a one on one coaching and mentoring service with an emphasis on establishing preventative strategies.

Deirdre is a graduate of NUI Galway having obtained both a B.A. Degree in Economics, Sociology and Politics (1988) and an LL.B. (Law) (1991) degree. She obtained her Barrister-at-Law degree from the Honorable Society of Kings Inns, Dublin in 1994. Deirdre was awarded her Masters Degree by Research in Law (LL.M) from University College Dublin in 2003. Her thesis focused on the area of Intellectual Property Law in particular on the area of multimedia products.

Deirdre has extensive knowledge of the multinational world having worked there for many years. Widely acknowledged as an expert in Employment Law, Deirdre has delivered many courses and seminars on a variety of employment issues to a broad range of clients. Her client list incorporates both the Private and Public sector on a national and international level. In addition to lecturing at the Galway Mayo Institute of Technology, she has lectured for a wide range of Institutes - Irish Management Institute (IMI), Institute of Public Administration, Irish Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management, Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, the Institute of Commercial Management, the Western Management Centre, National University of Ireland, Galway and the National College of Ireland.
