Speakers:
Derek Henry
Partner & Head of Tax, BDO Dublin
Derek is a Partner and Head of Tax in BDO Ireland. He currently leads the firm’s tax offering in the Real Estate and Construction Sector.
Prior to joining BDO, Derek worked for a large accountancy firm where he gained experience in international tax planning and considerable expertise in the structuring and taxation of financial services companies.
Since joining BDO in 2006, Derek has worked on numerous tax planning issues including advising on corporate restructuring, research and development tax credits, establishment of IT companies’ European hub in Ireland and branch network throughout Europe, various Irish and international property deals, holding company structuring, tax due diligence and the availability of Ireland’s 12.5% corporation tax rate.
Derek is a Chartered Accountant and an Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute. He has a BA in Accounting and Finance, an MBS in Accounting from DCU and a Diploma in Legal Studies from the King’s Inns.
Natalie Byrne
Partner, BDO Limerick
Natalie is a Tax Partner at BDO Limerick. Natalie joined the firm in 2007 and has extensive experience in advising both corporates and individuals on tax compliance and advisory matters.
Natalie currently manages the Corporation Tax compliance and advisory for multinational clients across a diverse range of industries. She has extensive experience in dealing with the Revenue Commissioners in Revenue audits, investigations, CCF Risk Reviews and other compliance interventions for multinational companies and large owner managed businesses. Natalie also advises clients on refinancing arrangements, reorganisations, property transactions and vendor and purchaser due diligence.
Natalie holds a first-class Honours Degree in Business Studies from the University of Limerick and is a member of both Chartered Accountants Ireland and the Irish Taxation Institute.
Aidan Twomey
Director, BDO Dublin
Aidan Twomey is a Director in the Private Client Tax Services team at BDO Ireland.
Aidan has over 10 years’ experience advising individuals, business owners and high-net-worth clients, with a particular focus on professionals and those operating within professional service firms.
He advises on income tax, capital gains tax and capital acquisitions tax, with specialist expertise in partnership structures, profit allocations, equity participation and succession planning. He also supports clients on asset disposals, wealth transfers and cross-border matters, including international relocations.
Aidan is a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA).
