with Robert Kirk.
The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) has completed all its major projects over the last two years but there are three new standards that still have to be implemented which forms the main part of the course. In addition, the latest developments on changing the basics of financial reporting by amending the conceptual framework will be covered as well as the changes being introduced to the cash flow statement.
A short review of the two regulators findings over the past year will be analysed indicating those areas that IAASA and the FRC are particularly concentrating their reviews on will be discussed.
The topics that will be covered include the following:
- IFRS 9 Financial instruments
- IFRS 15 Revenue recognition from contracts with customers
- IFRS 16 Leases
- IAS 7 Cash flow statements (amendment)
- ED Conceptual framework
- Review of IAASA's observations on published accounts in Ireland (Oct 2016)
- Review of Financial Reporting Council Annual Report - key issues (Oct 2016)
